heads together

Introduction

Bert Mulder came to help us (and others) to think a little more deeply at the Thinking Allowed #1 seminar in September 2006. Below are some of the responses from the seminar; the discussions afterwards and thoughts since then.

If you would like to add your own opinions - email Heads Together.

Thank you very much for the inspiring and touching days last week. For me it was wonderful to be able to spend time with you and my mind will be a lot on the things I've been part of. I felt that the presentation accomplished what we set out to do - give people a space in which thinking happened and that afterwards they felt to have been with 'heads together'. With 'business as usual' setting in again I wish you fun and happiness doing all the things you do so well.
Bert

Thank you – today has given me lots to think about and REFLECT on! It's made me realise how we continue to waste time and money re-doing things that don't work over and over because people who are not involved who are in higher positions don't give us 'a voice' to tell them that their policies are not right!

Maybe my voice will have to get louder and travel further to be heard...

Loved it. Space to think is always good. We all need Bert's email address though ... else our blogs will contribute to the increasse in poor information due to all the quandaries left in our minds!!!

boy Many thanks for inviting me to your seminar on Friday. It was a truly inspiring event! And the scones were great.

Just a quick thought. Linda briefly told me of your 2-year curriculum which, understandably, you are keeping under opaque wraps. We could discuss bidding for an Arts and Humanities Research Board grant to fund a project that runs alongside it, monitoring its experience and impact. This could provide further perspectives and ideas that may be of long-term benefit. The grant would pay for a full-time researcher and related costs. It would run beyond your 2-years in order to be able to get a longer-term view of its impact.
I ain’t got any more detailed ideas around this, but am very open to further discussion.

Thanks so much for the chance to meet Bert. It was really great to connect with him, and I'm excited about the possibilities presented by knowing him. Really good event.

Thanks! Off to Florence now.

Dave

Just listened again to the lecture. He is a very clever man and this was a very important event because I think it gives some strong indication of what the way forward is. Let's have more applicable models (still like the case studies though).
