Our Two Valleys community radio project steps up a gear...
Over the past 25 years, Heads Together has been involved in a vast range of projects, using a complete range of art-forms and learning processes.
Based on that experience, we believe in focusing on ambitious, long-term programmes of work where we really have a chance to impact on a place or an issue over time.
We currently have three main programmes of work across Yorkshire:
Two Valleys Radio, East Leeds FM and All In The Mind.
Two Valleys Radio
Introduction
Two Valleys Radio grew out of a pilot project, Colne Valley Radio, that Heads Together ran alongside the fabulous Moonraking Festival in Slaithwaite in February 2009
Purpose
The station aims to connect the many villages and communities in the area and reflect and enhance the cultural life of the Valleys.
Details
The station is run by volunteers who broadcast regularly from the Heads Together base in Meltham and out-and-about in the Two Valleys in the fabulous Caravan of Love.
Many of our young volunteers are working towards Arts Award accreditation as they develop their skills and put their efforts into a positive contribution to their villages and communities.
Two Valleys Radio is working closely with many of the schools in the area and has a particular focus on creating original radio drama, particularly its own style of live radio drama (not for the faint-hearted!).
We are currently planning our first radio drama festival in the Two Valleys for summer 2012.

New audio-visual presentation from Two Valleys Radio…
I interviewed 3 candidates just before the election. I was really impressed with the way they answered the questions with really big words. The downside was I couldn't understand what they meant sometimes because I didn't understand the big words!
